Crossroad Gear Shift Indicator Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Honda Crossroad is experiencing issues with the gear shift indicator flashing erratically, difficulty in shifting gears, and grinding noises. The problem, which started gradually, was diagnosed through error codes suggesting a faulty control unit. The recommended solution was to take the vehicle to a workshop, where the control unit was confirmed to be defective and subsequently repaired.

You felt the same on your Crossroad? That's both relieving and terrifying! To answer your question, it started gradually, like a slow creep, but now it's a straight-up mess. I'm thinking maybe a sensor issue? Or is my transmission just giving up on me? Any insight?

Based on your description, especially the gradual onset and the error codes, it's highly likely a faulty control unit. Unfortunately, that's what it was in my case. To get this resolved I would recommend taking your vehicle to a trusted workshop.

Thanks a bunch for the info! I took it to a workshop like you suggested and you were spot on; the control unit was indeed defective. Ended up costing me around 1000€ for the repair. At least it's fixed now!

I experienced something similar with my Crossroad. Does it feel like the transmission is shifting erratically, even when the indicator shows the correct gear? I also had the same error codes. Did the problems start suddenly, or gradually worsen?
