Crown climate control malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Toyota Crown hybrid is experiencing climate control issues, with an unresponsive panel, weak heat, and a non-engaging AC. Initial checks ruled out fuse problems, leading to suspicions of a bad cable or plug. A suggestion to check the blower motor resistor was made, but the issue was ultimately traced to a faulty electrical connector in the climate control system, which was resolved by a mechanic.

Thanks for the resistor suggestion. I hadn't thought of that. Where did you find the error memory readout? I used an OBD-II scanner connected to the port under the dash. I don't remember the exact codes, but I can get them again.

Ah, yes, OBD-II scanner should give you a good idea. Honestly, if you're getting error codes and it's not something simple like the resistor, it might be best to take it to a workshop. My issue was just the resistor. It seems you might have something more going on.

I took your advice and saw a mechanic. It was a faulty electrical connector in the climate control system, like I thought. The repair, including finding the problem and replacing the connector, cost 95€.

I own a Crown too, not sure of the year, and had similar heating issues last winter. AC wouldn't turn on either. Did you check the blower motor resistor? That fixed it for me. Apparently it's common. Where did you check the error memory?
