Crown multifunction steering wheel failure
Summary of the thread
The multifunction steering wheel on a 2009 Toyota Crown stopped working, with an error related to the steering wheel controls. A potential cause was identified as a defective cable connection. A suggestion was made to check the control module connections, which are located behind the steering wheel. The issue was resolved at a workshop by replacing the defective cable connection.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the control module located? And what do you mean by loose? Corroded?

It’s behind the steering wheel, you will have to take the steering wheel off to have a look. I would recommend going to a local workshop. The error that you are describing sounds very familiar to what I had. The mechanic was able to fix it for cheap.

Okay, thanks for the help! Took it to a workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable connection in the steering wheel, as suspected. They replaced it for just 95€, all working now!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Crown. The steering wheel controls just died. Did you check the control module connections? Mine was a bit loose.
