Crown Parking Aid Failure

I'm freaking out. My 2023 Toyota Crown with a gasoline engine's parking aid system has completely stopped working! The screen is blank when I put it in reverse, and I'm getting no beeps from the proximity sensors. I cleaned the rearview camera lens and checked the parking sensors for damage, but nothing fixes it. The system error memory indicates a fault. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I had a similar issue on my 2018 Volvo XC60. The parking assist system was completely dead, just like yours. It turned out to be a defective connection. Have you checked the wiring and connectors for the parking sensors and the control module? It might be a loose connection or a corroded pin.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'defective connection', do you mean a specific connector I should be looking at? Or is it more of a general 'check everything' kind of situation? I'm not super experienced with car electronics, so any specifics would be really helpful.

In my case, the defective connection was at one of the connectors for the rear parking sensors. Given that the diagnostic memory indicates a fault, and you have verified the sensors visually, I highly recommend taking your Crown to a qualified workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose the system using Toyota's diagnostic tools and pinpoint the exact location of the fault. It ended up costing me around 95€ to fix.

Alright, thanks so much for the advice! I'm going to book an appointment with a reputable mechanic. Hopefully, it's just a simple cable or plug connection issue like you suggested. I will post an outcome when I know more!
