I've got a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria with a gasoline engine and 121620 kilometers. The brake pedal feels strange, almost like metal on metal. I thought it might be worn brake pads or rotors, but could undervoltage be affecting the braking system? Disc brakes usually don't behave like this.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Crown Vic. I also got strange feedback when I pressed the brake pedal. Have you checked your brake calipers? Those can cause problems if they're sticking.

Thanks for the suggestion. When your brake calipers were sticking, did it feel like a grinding sensation, like worn metal brakes, or more of a pulsating feeling? I'm trying to figure out if the brake rotors could be to blame.

It was more of a shuddering, but I'm no expert. I'd advise getting it checked by a workshop to be safe. You don't want to play around with brakes.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and it turned out I had worn out metal brakes and some sticky brake calipers. The repair cost came to 240€. Everything is running smoothly now.
