Crown Victoria Charge Air Temperature Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Ford Crown Victoria experienced a check engine light and reduced power, accompanied by a whistling and hissing noise during acceleration. Diagnostics identified the charge air temperature sensor as the issue, with suspicion of a faulty cable or plug. After consulting with others who had similar experiences, it was confirmed that a defective cable connection to the sensor was the cause. Repairing the cable resolved the problem.

The error code specifically points to the charge air temperature sensor. Are you suggesting there might be another underlying issue?

No, I'm just saying that's what it was for me too. I would recommend taking it to a workshop to have it checked. Replacing the sensor or fixing the cable should solve the issue.

Thank you for the input. I followed your advice and took it to a workshop. As suspected, the cable connection to the charge air temperature sensor was indeed defective. The repair cost was 95€. The issue is now resolved.

I had a similar issue with my Crown Vic. Check engine light, reduced power, the whole nine yards. Was the error code specifically pointing to the charge air temperature sensor, or did it give any other related codes?
