Crown Victoria Radio Reception Error
Summary of the thread
The radio reception issue in a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria was marked by an error message and intermittent audio system failures. The initial suspicion was a faulty antenna, and a similar problem was noted by another owner, suggesting the antenna booster as a potential cause. After professional diagnosis, the problem was confirmed to be a defective antenna, which was replaced to resolve the issue.

Thanks. Where is the antenna booster located in the Crown Vic, and how would I test it to confirm it's the problem?

The booster's location can vary, but it's typically near the antenna base. Without proper diagnostic tools, I cannot recommend a specific test procedure. I recommend you visit your local workshop to make sure you have no defective vehicle electronics.

Thanks. I took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a defective antenna. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 255€. Seems the antenna needed replacement.

I had a similar problem with my Crown Vic. Have you checked the antenna booster? It's a small signal amplifier that boosts the FM signal. They are known to fail.
