Cruise control error in 2015 Mercedes Citan: experience and suggested solutions wanted

Hi guys, I need your help. I have a problem with my 2015 Mercedes Citan (gasoline engine, mileage 102871 km). The cruise control no longer works and an error is displayed. Has anyone ever had similar problems? How did you solve it and did you go to the garage? Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience on my last visit to the garage and would like to know a bit more before I go again. Thanks for your tips!

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Mercedes Citan owner is experiencing a cruise control malfunction, with an error message displayed. A similar issue was resolved by another Mercedes owner through a garage visit, where a defective control unit was identified and replaced. The repair, though costly, successfully restored the cruise control's functionality. Seeking advice before visiting a garage, the owner is prepared for potential expenses to ensure reliable vehicle performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hello, I drive a 2012 Mercedes C180. I had the same problem once. The control unit was defective. Had to go to the workshop. It wasn't a minor fault, but it was fixable with expert knowledge. The problem can be really annoying, but don't worry, it can be solved. On my last visit to the workshop, that was the main problem. It has now worked again without any problems. Good luck, hopefully this will help you.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. That doesn't sound so good if it's the control unit.... Do you remember how much it cost you at the garage? Has everything gone smoothly since then or have there been any other problems with the cruise control? Many thanks in advance!

Hey, yeah, that really wasn't fun. The bill for the control unit was pretty hefty, it cost me €1000 to get it fixed. But I can tell you, since I had it done at the garage, the cruise control has been running without any problems. So, it was definitely worth it! Best regards!

Hey, €1000, wow, that really is a lot of money. But good to know that there have been no further problems since then. I guess I'll have to prepare myself to pay a high price then too. But I think it's worth it to have stable and safe power. Thanks again for your help. You have really helped me! All the best!
