Cruise Control Failure on 2022 Renault Arkana Hybrid: Seeking Advice and Shared Experiences

Hey folks, I'm dealing with a troubling issue with my 2022 Renault Arkana (Hybrid engine, 155820 km on the clock). The cruise control refuses to function and the car's been showing a fault stored message. I suspect it has something to do with the cruise control failure. I had a bitter experience with my mechanic last time, which makes me a bit concerned now. Any ideas what this might be? Anyone had a similar problem? What was your mechanic's response? Would appreciate any shared experiences or advice, cheers!

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Renault Arkana Hybrid is experiencing cruise control failure, with a fault message indicating a potential issue. A similar problem in a 2019 Renault Captur was resolved by addressing a defective speed sensor cable and its connection to the adaptive control system. The solution involved fixing the wire connection and sensor, which restored the cruise control's functionality. Seeking a reliable mechanic is advised to ensure a proper fix.

Hey, I totally get your trouble. I've got a 2019 Renault Captur, and, blow me down if I didn't experience something similar recently. Was getting an error around the cable connection being defective. Yeah, it was a bit of a serious issue cause my cruise control was totally out too. Turned out, the problem was primarily with the speed sensor cable and the connection to the adaptive control system. My garage chap had to work on fixing the wire connection and the sensor. Was not an easy fix for sure but once done, it was all smooth sailing. Hope this gives you a bit of a heads-up!

Hey there, much obliged for your insights! Your experience sounds all too familiar, pesky sensor cables eh? Just out of curiosity, do you happen to recall what you had to dish out for that sort of repair? And has there been any other problems with the cruise control or anything else since you got it fixed?

Hey, I can totally relate to your worry. The whole sensor wire thingy had me coughing up about 95 quid. But let me reassure you, it was money well spent because ever since I had the cable connection sorted, the cruise control has been behaving like a dream, no further hitches. So yeah, sometimes it's worth it, you know. Just make sure you find a reliable mechanic, someone who knows what he's doing. Hope that helps!

Appreciate the advice, and the information about the cost helps. I see the value in it if that solves the issue once and for all. I'll surely keep my eyes peeled for a trustworthy mechanic this time around. Glad to hear that you've had no more trouble with the cruise control after the fix. Cheers for the guidance, truly helps!
