Hey there, Your situation sounds pretty familiar. Had a similar issue with my 2001 Elantra - all down to a dodgy cable connection. Just curious, do you recall how much you shelled out for that fix? Also, has the problem popped up again or were you in the clear since they sorted your cable connections? I'm trying to get a ballpark of what I could expect if it turns out to be the same thing. Thanks and safe cruising!
Hey! Ah, memories. Yeah, the pesky Cable problem did ring up a bill for this dude. I wasn't too thrilled to part with my hard-earned 95.00 €, but hey, what's a guy gonna do, right? That pretty much covered everything - from the tinker-tailor-soldier-soldier stuff on the connections to getting that dodgy part replaced. As for your second question, well, it's been smooth sailing since that visit to the mechanic. My Cruise control came back from its little vacation and hasn't thrown any tantrums since. So, all in all, getting that Cable connection whipped into shape was worth every penny of those 95 bones. Hang in there with your Getz. A good mechanic will run her through the works and have her purring like a kitten in no time. Keep it rubber side down, Cheers!
Hey again, Good to know you got your ride sorted without any recurring problems! That gives me a bit of comfort. And the amount doesn't really break the bank too much either. I reckon I'd happily shell out a hundred notes or so too, to get my Getz behaving nicely again. Now, it's just a matter of finding the right mechanic. I've been asking around, hopefully will land on a Hyundai wizard soon! Thanks a lot for the insight, really appreciated. Here's hoping my Getz goes back to her good old days soon. Safe travels and keep rocking, Cheers!
Hey! That sounds quite a pickle you're in, been in your shoes before. I own a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and had an eerily similar defect not too long ago. It turned out to be bad Cable connections. I took it to my local garage and theyaged to sort it out for me. They had to check every connection, clean and also replace some parts of the cable. They only concluded the cable was defective after running lots of diagnostics and elimination of other possibilities. It was pretty thorough. It wasn't a minor issue, but it wasn't necessarily severe either. Like, the car wasn't about to blow up or anything, but if left untreated, it could have complicated things down the line. Fair warning though, it took a bit of time since they had to make sure the connections were crystal clear and secure. Not sure about the mechanic bit, as location does matter. But do try looking for a Hyundai specialist, since they might have seen this issue before and know a thing or two. I hope things turn out alright for you and your Getz. Don't lose faith in her yet! Safe driving, Cheers.
