Cruze Fuel Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze diesel is experiencing a fuel flap release issue, accompanied by an ECU error and other malfunctioning functions. The problem is likely due to a faulty fuel flap actuator, a known weak point in the vehicle. The recommended solution is to have a professional workshop diagnose and replace the actuator, which resolved the issue for the owner.

I haven't pulled the codes myself, just saw the warning. Where exactly is the actuator located? Is it hard to get to?

I suspected as much! I wouldn't pull it apart yourself unless you're comfortable with automotive electrics. It's fiddly, and you'll likely break something else. Best to take it to a trusted workshop and get them to check it. It’s most likely the actuator, but let them diagnose to be sure.

Took it to the shop, and it was the electric actuator. 180€ to get it sorted. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds familiar. I've got a Cruze too, and I had a similar issue. Is it throwing any specific codes, or just a generic warning? Check the fuel flap actuator; it's a common weak point.
