Cruze rough running and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was experiencing rough running and stalling, particularly at idle, with the check engine light on and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a defective ignition coil cable or plug. After visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed a defective ignition coil, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

I replaced the spark plugs about 10,000 km ago. How would you suggest checking the coil pack connections beyond visually inspecting for corrosion or loose wiring?

Since the spark plugs are new, that rules that out. For checking the connections, make sure the connectors are fully seated and locked. Sometimes they seem connected but aren't fully clicked. You could also wiggle the wires while the engine is running carefully to see if it runs rougher, which could mean a bad connection. But it's probably best to get it checked by a professional workshop. It could be something else, and they'll have the tools to diagnose it properly.

I visited the workshop, and it was a defective ignition coil. The repair, which was replacing it, cost 95€. The car is now running perfectly. Thanks for the advice.

Those symptoms sound concerning. It could be an ignition coil problem. When did you last change your spark plugs? Old plugs can stress the coils and cause them to fail. Have you checked the coil pack connections yourself for corrosion or loose wires?
