Cruze Sun Blind Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Chevrolet Cruze diesel with low mileage has a malfunctioning sun blind that won't retract or extend, accompanied by an error code. The likely cause is a defective motor, as suggested by another individual who experienced a similar issue with a different vehicle. The recommended solution is to have the car inspected by a workshop to confirm the diagnosis and proceed with the necessary repairs.

No strange noises at all, just went kaput. So, you reckon it's definitely the motor? What did the repair cost you on the BMW? Just trying to brace myself for the inevitable bill, as this UV protection is really needed!

Considering the error code and the symptoms you're describing, a defective motor is the most probable cause. I would advise bringing your car to a trusted workshop; they can confirm the diagnosis and provide an accurate repair estimate. My BMW repair was around the same ballpark, though prices can vary.

Thanks for the insight. I suspected as much, but it's good to hear from someone who's been through it. Booked it into the workshop, and you were spot on – motor's gone. Quoted 330€ for the repair. Ouch, but at least I know what I'm dealing with. Thanks again!

I had a similar experience with my old BMW 3 Series, although it was a petrol engine. The sun blind motor is probably the culprit. A sun blind is an interior accessory mounted to the car's roof or rear window, designed to block sunlight and reduce heat inside the vehicle. Did it make any strange noises before failing completely?
