CRV ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Honda CR-V with approximately 224,000 km is experiencing ABS system failure, indicated by an ABS lamp and diagnostic codes related to the lateral acceleration sensor. The issue may be linked to the yaw rate sensor and possibly the steering angle sensor, as they are interconnected within the control unit. The recommended solution is to consult a reputable workshop to assess and potentially replace the entire control unit, which resolved the problem in this case.

Steering angle sensor, eh? I didn't specifically look for that. Is it definitely all tied into the same control unit?

From what I remember and what the workshop told me, yeah, it's all interconnected. If the diagnostic info points to a defective control unit, and that seems to be affecting the lateral sensor, you might be chasing down a rabbit hole by replacing just the sensor. Go to a reputable workshop.

You were spot on. Confirmed with the shop that the whole unit was hosed. Cost me about 1000€, but ABS is back and working. Thanks for the heads-up!

Dude, sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my CR-V. The yaw rate sensor can cause those ABS issues, like you're describing. Were you getting steering angle sensor warnings as well? It might be related to your lateral acceleration sensor.
