CRV Diesel Particulate Filter Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Honda CRV diesel with 158,264 km is experiencing power loss and emitting smoke during acceleration, likely due to a clogged diesel particulate filter (DPF). The symptoms include struggling to rev and feeling like the exhaust is blocked. A similar case resulted in replacing the DPF after an unsuccessful cleaning attempt, which resolved the issue. It is advised to have the DPF checked and replaced if necessary.

Yeah, that's exactly it! Feels like I'm towing a truck. What was it in the end, and what did you do?

DPF. I tried cleaning it, but it didn't last. Bit the bullet and had it replaced at a garage. Cost me around 1550€ including the sensor fault. Get it checked out properly.

Ouch, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the heads-up! Garage confirmed it, new DPF needed. Cheers!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar thing happen on my CRV. Is it struggling to rev, almost like something is blocking the exhaust?
