CRV temperature gauge check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Honda CR-V with a diesel engine exhibited issues with the temperature gauge, check engine light, and slow engine warm-up. The problem was suspected to be related to a restricted cooling grille or a defective fuse. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that both the cooling grille and a fuse were causing the issues, and they were promptly fixed.

Restricted grille, you say? How would I even check that? And if it is, what’s the fix?

Yes, the grille! I am not sure about how to fix it by yourself. I would recommend going to the workshop; they'll sort it out quickly and could also check the fuse while they're at it. Better safe than sorry, especially with thermal management.

Thanks a bunch! Took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out the cooling grille was indeed the culprit, and a fuse was defective. 52€ later, all is fixed!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms in my CR-V. Is the cooling grille perhaps restricted? It's like trying to run a marathon with a plastic bag over your face – the engine can't breathe properly, and the temperature readings go haywire.
