CT200h Brake Booster Sensor Failure

I have a 2020 Lexus CT200h (hybrid engine) with 72,602 km. I'm getting an error message and the brakes feel weak. I scanned for error codes, and it shows a brake booster pressure sensor failure. Could this be related to the ABS system or a bad brake booster? I had the brake system bled a few months ago, and I'm wondering if they messed something up.

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Lexus CT200h exhibited weak brakes and an error message, with a diagnostic scan indicating a brake booster pressure sensor failure. This issue could be linked to the ABS system or a faulty brake booster, and there was concern about whether recent brake bleeding might have caused the problem. It was suggested to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified workshop to diagnose the issue accurately. Ultimately, the brake booster pressure sensor was replaced, resolving the braking problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my CT200h. That brake booster sensor issue can definitely cause those symptoms. Weak braking and error messages are classic signs. Did the error code specifically mention the brake booster pressure sensor?

Yes, the error code pointed directly to the brake booster pressure sensor. Do you think the incorrect brake bleeding could have damaged the sensor, or is it more likely just a coincidence that it failed shortly after?

In my case the sensor was faulty and the brake bleeding didn't help at all. It's hard to say for sure if the brake bleeding caused it, but it's possible if it wasn't done properly. I'd recommend taking it to a qualified workshop. They can properly diagnose the ABS system and brake booster and figure out if you need replacement parts.

I took it to the workshop, and it turned out the brake booster pressure sensor was indeed faulty. They replaced it, and the braking is back to normal now. The bill came to about 90€, which I think is reasonable.
