CT200h Coolant Level Low
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Lexus CT200h owner reported consistently low coolant levels, triggering the check engine light and an error code, without visible leaks. Possible causes discussed included engine overheating, radiator fluid issues, a faulty head gasket, cooling fan problems, radiator hose damage, or a water pump issue. The solution involved identifying a minor leak in a radiator hose, which was repaired at a workshop, resolving the problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I checked the cooling fan, and it seems to be functioning normally. Could you please elaborate on what the eventual cause of your issue was? I'm a bit worried about the head gasket.

In my case, it turned out to be a very minor leak from one of the radiator hoses, but it was difficult to spot. Because of my limited expertise, I took my car to a workshop. After inspection they replaced the hose. I advise that you seek expert help to prevent damage to your engine.

Thank you for the advice. I visited a workshop today, and indeed, a small leak was found at one of the hose connections. The repair, including coolant top-up, cost 52€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue permanently.

I also own a CT200h and experienced something similar! The check engine light was on, pointing towards low coolant. I started investigating potential causes, such as engine overheating, checking radiator fluid, or a faulty head gasket. I also looked into issues with the cooling fan and radiator hoses. I even considered possible damage to the water pump. Did you check the cooling fan operation?
