CT200h Intake Air Temperature Sensor Issue

My 2016 Lexus CT200h hybrid has a check engine light and feels underpowered. Diagnostic shows a fault with the intake air temperature sensor, and it's running rough. Could this be a faulty sensor?

I had a similar problem with my CT200h! Check engine light, sluggish performance. The diagnostic pointed to the same temperature sensor. Did you check the temperature reading? Mine was way off, even when the engine was cold. What readings are you seeing?

I saw the temperature reading, but I wasn't sure what a normal range would be. It seemed pretty low, even after the engine warmed up. Was it hard to replace, or could I do it myself? Do you remember the faulty reading?

I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you're very comfortable with car repairs. There's a risk of damaging other components. Mine was consistently showing something like -40 degrees Celsius. I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop to confirm and replace the sensor properly. Better safe than sorry, especially with a hybrid system.

Okay, good advice. I'll take it to my local shop. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's a relief to know someone else had the same problem! The sensor was indeed defective. Cost me 155€ for the replacement. Runs great now!
