CT200h Low Brake Fluid

Low brake fluid and strange pedal feel? Sounds familiar. I had a similar thing happen on my old Volvo V70. The light came on intermittently, and the pedal feel was off. Have you checked your brake pads for wear? That was the culprit for me. As the pads wear down, the pistons in the calipers have to extend further, requiring more fluid from the reservoir. Is there any visible leaking around the wheels?

I kept driving it for a short while, topping off the fluid. Not the smartest move, I admit. Eventually, the light stayed on, and the pedal feel got worse. Turns out the pads were almost gone. I'd advise getting your brakes checked sooner rather than later. It's probably the pads, but if the fluid got too low, you might have introduced air into the system. Alright, you've convinced me. I'll get it into the shop. Thanks for sharing your experience! The mechanic confirmed worn brake pads were the issue, causing the fluid level to drop. I also needed a fluid replacement. Total cost was 480€ but happy to have it resolved!
