CT200h rain light sensor fault

Hi. I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Lexus CT200h hybrid. It seems I have a rain-light sensor fault. The error memory has stored an error, the automatic wiping mode during rain doesn't work, neither does the automatic headlight control, and even the speedometer dimming has stopped working. The lights are permanently switched on. Has anyone experienced something similar? I've checked the fuses and everything seems fine.

I had something similar occur on my CT200h. Do you see any bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits?

Bubbles under the gel pad? I'll have to take a closer look. Is that a common issue? What did you do to fix it?

It's not unheard of. The bubbles interfere with the sensor's readings. While you could attempt a DIY fix, I'd strongly recommend taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and ensure the sensor is recalibrated after any repair or replacement.

Thanks for the advice! I checked, and indeed, there were bubbles. Took it to the workshop, they replaced the gel pad, recalibrated the sensor, and everything is working perfectly again. Cost me 62€, not too bad. Appreciate the help!
