Cube clutch pedal switch issue

My 2009 Nissan Cube with a diesel engine is showing odd symptoms. There's an error stored, the gear selection display is non-functional, cruise control won't engage, and sometimes the engine won't start. I suspect a faulty clutch pedal switch or a defective cable/plug connection. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Sounds like a dodgy clutch switch. The Cube uses that switch as a safety mechanism. The symptoms you describe all point to the same thing. Is the CAN-Bus system okay otherwise? Those can cause similar headaches if they go haywire.

The CAN-Bus seems to be functioning normally. What is more likely: the entire switch, or just a loose connection?

I'd lean toward the switch or the immediate wiring to it. Could be corrosion or a broken wire right at the connector. Might be worth checking the resistance through the switch with a multimeter. But if you are not comfortable doing that, it is probably worth getting it checked out by a workshop. At least they have the diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the issue quickly.

Thanks for the insight! Indeed, it was the clutch pedal switch and as you suspected it was the connection to it. The workshop charged me 95€, so all good now!
