Cube rough engine jerking

Hey, I'm having some serious issues with my 2000 Nissan Cube, gasoline engine. It's only got 44919 km on the clock, but the engine is running really rough. The check engine light is on, and I've got an error code stored. It's jerking pretty bad when I try to accelerate. I was thinking maybe it's an ignition coil or a bad oxygen sensor, or even the crankshaft sensor. Could it also be spark plugs or even the timing belt? Has anyone experienced similar issues? I was thinking a leak in the exhaust system might be a likely cause.

I had something similar with my Cube. It was like trying to run through peanut butter. Check your exhaust system first.

Interesting. When you say 'similar', do you mean the jerking and the check engine light too? Did your mechanic also suspect ignition coil, oxygen sensor, crankshaft sensor, spark plugs or timing belt?

Yep, all the same symptoms, but I am no mechanic. I would recommend you get it checked out at a workshop. In my case they found the issue pretty quick and fixed it, and it was relatively cheap.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a leak in the exhaust system, just like I initially suspected. Cost me about 265€ to get it fixed. Runs like new now!
