Cube Water Sensor Issue

My 2015 Nissan Cube diesel with 190986 km has the check engine light on. OBD-II reader says water sensor malfunction. The engine is running rough. I checked the sensor and wiring, but see nothing obvious. Could it be corroded contacts, or something worse?

I feel your pain. I had something similar happen with my Cube. Check the cable and plug connection of the sensor. That was the culprit in my case.

When you say 'cable and plug connection,' are you talking about a specific connector, or the whole wiring loom? Was the engine running rough or was it more of an idling issue?

Yes, the specific connector for the sensor. My engine was running rough too. I would recommend visiting a workshop.

I checked the connector and found a corroded pin. Contact cleaner and light sanding fixed it! The check engine light is off, and the engine runs great. Total cost: 95€ for parts and labor. Thanks for the help!
