Hey! Appreciate the insights. Good to hear I'm not alone on this, even if it's not the greatest club to be a part of, eh? Looks like my suspicions about that selector lever weren't too far off. Just out of curiosity, do you remember more or less what that repair job set you back? I’m trying to estimate costs. Also, has anything else related to the transmission acted up since getting it fixed? Fingers crossed for a less stressful mechanic experience this time! Catch you later!

Hey there! Well, you're pretty spot on about the club we're in - it's a pretty cranky club to say the least! As for the cost, I can recall that it was about 365€ to sort out the damaged cable connection on the selector lever. Remember though, it’s well worth it. Getting the transmission selector lever sorted has smoothed things out considerably. No more erratic shifts or slipping - a total change ever since the mechanic worked his magic on it. Here's hoping your mechanic visit goes better this time around. Don’t sweat it too much! Catch you on the flip side!

Hey there! Ahh, that's not as bad as I was dreading - thanks for giving me a bit of peace of mind! Glad to hear your car behaved after the fix. That definitely gives me hope that mine will follow suit with a bit of TLC. I've made an appointment with a recommended mechanic. Not going back to the old one! Fingers crossed for a smooth sail this time around. Appreciate your help and reassurance. Catch you around! Cheers!

Hey! Had a similar experience with my 2010 Dacia Logan (not too far off from your Dokker, right?). Turned out it was indeed the cable connection on the selector lever that was causing the trouble. My car was also shifting like it had a mind of its own, so I feel ya. Wasn't such a massive issue though, the mechanics told me that the cables can shrink or stretch over time or due to various driving conditions - you know, your usual wear and tear stuff. They fixed it up, needed to replace the cable and adjust the connection. As for the shop, my experience wasn't really a walk in the park either the last time, but I reckon it's all a part of the game. Try not to stress too much about it this time around and maybe consider trying a different mechanic if your last one gave you such a tough time. Good luck with yours, hope it gets sorted soon!
