Dacia Dokker 2017: Irregular Heating/Cooling and Mirror Defrosting Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Dacia Dokker is experiencing irregular heating/cooling and mirror defrosting issues. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning defogging sensor, possibly due to corroded cable connections. A similar issue in another Dacia model was resolved by replacing the corroded cables, which restored proper function. It is suggested to have the vehicle's cable connections inspected and repaired to address the problem effectively.

Hey! Cheers for that! Cable corrosion sounds like a nightmare and totally not what I was expecting. it never rains but it pours! Reckon you can recall how much the garage nibbled out of your wallet for that repair job? And have you had any other problems with your Dacia since the big fix-up? Cheers!

Hey there, Sure thing, I remember that repair job all too well! The whole fix with the rotten cable connections set me back 155€. A bit steep, but since getting that sorted, the car's been performing like a champ. All those little quirks with the defrosting and heating? Totally nixed once the mechanic finished up with it. Seems like that defogging sensor was on the blink after all, but it's all shipshape now. No major issues to report since then, thankfully. My Dacia's been pretty reliable post the big fix. Hope that gives you a bit of comfort as you navigate your own car troubles! Catch ya!

Hey! Wow, thanks for giving me the figures on your repair. Tough to shell out, but hearing it has been smooth sailing since the fix is certainly comforting. Guess it's my turn to brace myself for the garage trip now. I'll be sure to ask them to pay attention to the cable connections, and hope my Dacia rolls out as reliable as yours has been post the ordeal. Thanks a ton for sharing your experience. Really helps to know there's light at the end of the tunnel! Cheers!

Hey there, Had a similar issue with my 2014 Dacia Duster. The trouble was more to do with the cable connection being defective. My heating/cooling control wasn't up to par and mirror defrosting was off, much like what you're describing. At the garage, the team had to check the car's entire cable network. After a thorough examination, they figured it was a cable connection issue, notably those associated with the defogging sensor and the heating control system. Turned out, the connections were all corroded and worn out. Ended up having to replace the entire setup to get things running smooth. So yeah, it was pretty serious. It's not just about the heating/cooling being problematic, but the overall performance of the car could take a hit if left unchecked. You might want to get that looked into fairly quick. Hope this helps, and good luck!
