Dacia Duster 2015 Gas Engine Issues: Suspected Knock Sensor Problem, Reduced Power & Fuel Efficiency
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Dacia Duster with a gas engine is experiencing reduced power, jerking during acceleration, decreased fuel efficiency, and a strange engine noise, with the check engine light on. The owner suspects a knock sensor issue but is uncertain. Another person with a similar issue on a different model suggests checking the plugs and cables, as a faulty plug or cable was the cause in their case. The owner plans to have these components inspected at a local garage.

Hey there, thanks for the tip! I really appreciate your help. My Duster has done a run of about 116732 KM so far. Haven't had much trouble until now. Based on your suggestion, I'm gonna have the plugs and cables checked ASAP. Fingers crossed it's just a minor issue. Let's see how it goes. I'll share an update once it's sorted. Cheers!

Hey, no worries, glad to help! That's a decent mileage, and with it, wear and tear are pretty normal. Sounds like the right move to get those plugs and cables checked. I remember my Sandero pulled the same stunt around that mark too, so we might be onto something here. Anyway, just pop it into your local garage and see what they say, they should be able to point you in the right direction. Can't wait to hear the update! Happy fixing! Cheers!

Thanks a ton! Your input really eased my stress about the issue. I’m heading to my local garage tomorrow. Hopefully, it is only the plugs and cables causing this ruckus. Will definitely let you and the community know how it goes. Wish me luck! Cheers!

Hey. Had a similar issue on my 2017 Dacia Sandero, petrol engine as well. I'm no car mechanic but know a thing or two about fixes and stuff. The issue turned out to be a faulty plug/Cable. Had to take it to my local garage who are alright blokes, really know their stuff. Forked out about 95 Euro for the fix. Sorted out the fault codes, power was back and fuel efficiency improved. Suggest you check your cables and plugs. It could be your issue too. What's your mileage, by the way? Could help us pinpoint the issue better. Cheers!
