Dacia Lodgy 2020 Petrol Engine Start-Up Issues: Possible Engine Control Unit Main Relay Problem

Hey there! I've come across a bit of a problem with my 2020 Dacia Lodgy with a petrol engine. Lately, it's acting up and won't start. My gut says it could be a glitch with the engine control unit main relay. Anyone out there ever experienced the same? If so, how did you or your mechanic resolve this at your workshop? Any info will be a great help! Cheers.

Hey! I had a similar situation with my 2018 Dacia Logan MCV. I'm not much of a car expert, just had some car nitty-gritty lessons from my dad. I took mine to my trusted local garage. Turned out, the main relay was indeed defective. The lads got it sorted for about 120 Euro. Phew! Though, it could differ based on the specifics of your car. Could you share more details about your Lodgy, like mileage and if there's been any recent work done on it? It might help me give you a more tailored advice. Hope it gets fixed soon! Cheers.

Hey! Thanks a bunch for your quick response. Well, my Lodgy's done 61212KM till now. My last service was just two months ago, everything was smooth sailing then. No work done post that, just my regular oil checks and the likes. Surprising to see it play up within such a short span. Your experience does give me a bit of relief, though it hurts the pocket a bit. Let's see. Thanks again! Cheers.

Hey again, Hmm... given what you've said, your Lodgy has a pretty decent mileage, and since you mentioned that you haven't had anything major done on it since your last service, it does sound like the main relay could be at fault here. I was surprised too when my Dacia Logan acted up, but cars have their own ways. Despite the maintenance and all, certain parts do tend to malfunction especially when not replaced for a long time, and the engine control unit main relay is one of those. But hey, don't panic yet. You only really know what's up when you get it inspected. Take it to a good garage, preferably where you had your last service, and let them diagnose it for you. Post then, you can decide whether it's worth to get it fixed there or look for a more affordable option. I know it hurts. Just remember to keep up with regular maintenance and inspections to prevent unexpected issues. Hope you get it resolved soon without much trouble. Gear up and ride on! Cheers!

Hey! Your advice hit the nail on the head! I'm booking an appointment at my regular garage ASAP. It's a tough pill to swallow, but it seems there's no better way to tackle this problem. I'll be sure to keep the maintenance and inspections up to scratch from here on. Cheers! You've been a great help! Let's hope for the best. Ride On!
