Dacia Logan '06: Experiencing Flickering Lights and Remote Locking Issues

Hey, got an issue with my '06 Dacia Logan (gasoline, 110901 KM on the clock). Recently, the lights have been dimming or flickering and I can't lock or unlock the car remotely. Could this be a keyless entry issue? Had a rough time with a mechanic before, so a bit nervous about getting this sorted. Anyone else had the same gremlins? What was your experience getting it fixed? Thanks heaps!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my '09 Dacia Sandero a while back. Turns out the problem was with the cable connection to the outside door handle electronics. It was actually a scary feeling having a problem locking and unlocking the car, thought I was gonna be left stranded! The mechanic at the garage had to rewire some parts to fix up the electronic locking system. It wasn't a quick process but eventually, they got the job done. It was a bit of a serious issue since it was affecting the functionality of the car. But, don't worry, it's all fixable. My advice? Be sure to tell your mechanic all the symptoms, every detail counts when it comes to electronic issues. Hope this helps you out!

Heya, So, you had to rewire some parts, huh? I'm hoping not to get stuck in a similar pickle with my Logan. I'm curious - do you recall how much you had to shell out to get it all sorted? Or is my memory tank as bad as my car's fickle lights and I've asked already? Oh, and since your fix, has anything else popped up or has it been smooth sailing? I'm crossing my fingers it's the latter! Thanks for your help!

Hey there! Your memory tank is still running fine! You haven't asked about the cost before, no worries. To get the whole cable connection to the outside door handle sorted it set me back 170€. So, wasn't exactly pocket change but totally worth it in the end. And to answer your other question, since having the work done, my Dacia has been behaving itself quite nicely - no more sketchy attempts at locking and unlocking. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders to tell you truth. The keyless entry problem was totally fixed by the mechanic, thankfully without more issues popping up so far. So, keep your fingers crossed and hopefully yours will be back on the straight and narrow soon too. Best of luck!

Hey! 170€, huh? Well, at least it's a one-and-done cost - no return trips for the same dang issue. Your story eases my nervousness a tad. Seems like it won't turn into a recurring nightmare then. Like you, I'd be more than glad to say goodbye to these annoying problems with my Logan once and for all. I'll get it checked pronto and update you. Thanks a bunch for all the help and the well wishes. Crossed fingers and all, off I go to find a decent mechanic. Cheers!
