Hey! I appreciate your thorough explanation - sounds like I'm definitely in a similar boat with my Dacia. A worn out glow plug is starting to look like the main culprit. It's kind of a relief to realize it might not cause long-term damage as I feared. Just to satisfy my curiosity, can you recall how much you paid for the whole glow plug replacement at the garage, including the diagnostics? And has there been anything else that's popped up since you got that sorted? Cheers!

Hey, glad to hear my experience is helping you out! Yeah, getting that glow plug issue solved really gave my Dacia a new lease of life. As for the cost, the total was around €560. This included diagnostics, getting that failed glow plug replaced, and labour. Not exactly pocket change, but honestly, it's been worth every penny. Since I got the glow plug fixed, there haven't been any major issues. The car's running smoothly, starts way quicker than before, and the fuel economy's improved massively. No more black smoke or unusual engine lights popping up, thank god! Just remember, finding a good mechanic who knows their stuff is key. Hope everything goes well with your Logan. Keep us posted!

Cheers! Your information has definitely shed some light on my situation. Sounds like the cost was worth it considering the improvement in the car's performance. I think I'll follow your advice and take my Dacia to a trustworthy and knowledgeable mechanic rather than going through a guessing game. Hopefully, my car also starts behaving properly after the glow plug replacement and I don't get any more nasty surprises. Thanks again for your valuable suggestions and support. Will keep you updated on the progress. Take care!

Hey there, sounds like you're dealing with a bit of a pickle! I can see why you're leaning towards a glow plug issue, happened not so long ago on my '2008 Dacia Sandero. Similar symptoms - trouble starting, 'Check engine' light always on, DPF regeneration issues and it felt like the car was drinking fuel. Turned out my glow plug was worn out and needed replacing. Massive pain, as you can imagine. Didn't take too long to sort out once we figured it out though. The technicians at my garage did a diagnostic test first to determine the source of the problem. It was only then that they confirmed it to be the glow plugs. They had to remove the old ones and replace them with new ones. The good news is even though it was a bit serious, it didn't cause any long-term damage to my car. So, just stay calm. Best advice I can give is to take your car to a reputable mechanic who understands Dacia engines. That's pretty much what saved me. Keep us updated. All the best!
