Dacia Logan 2022 Gasoline Model: Seeking Advice for No-Start Issue, Battery Weakness, Fluctuating Lights, and Warning Speedometer Message

Dim or flickering lights

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Weak battery when starting the engine

Car won't start

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2022 Dacia Logan, Gasoline engine. Been dealing with a no-start problem, a feeble battery on start-up, some fluctuating lights and a nagging warning on my speedometer. I'm suspecting it's an error message but not sure how to go about it. Has anyone faced something similar and got it sorted at a garage? Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated!

Hey there, I dealt with a pretty similar issue on my 2020 Dacia Duster, diesel. I'd say I have some experience with car stuff but I'm no mechanic. I got to my local garage and figured out it was a Cable connection of the control unit that was defective, the connection to the BUS system. Cost me 260€ to get it settled. But y'know, every car's a bit different. Can you share more details about your issue, any error codes or anything? Maybe I can help you out more.

Hey, appreciate your input! I have yet to get any error codes, but I'm definitely not ruling out something up with the control unit. I've driven my Logan about 12272 KM so far and my latest service was just a couple of months ago. Everything seemed hunky-dory then. I may just have to pop into my local garage and have a closer look at it. Volkswagens, amirite? Thanks again for your advice.

Hey again! Ah, so your Logan's still pretty fresh with just over 12k on the clock. That's a bit of a bummer getting these problems so early. But cars can be mysterious beasts sometimes, eh? As you mentioned the control unit, it could well be the culprit, given your symptoms. If it was a Duster like mine, I'd say check the Connection to the BUS system first, as that was the issue for me. But if I remember correctly, your Logan's system might be a bit different. So, heading to the garage sounds like a good move. If it is the control unit cable, hopefully, it won't set you back too many Euro. By the way, Volkswagens and Dacias, they all have their days! Keep us updated on what you find. Never know who else it might help out. Good luck!

Cheers for the insight! Yeah, it’s definitely gutting to be dealing with this so soon. Especially since I had been splendidly sailing along until now. The comparison to your Duster issue does help and giving a close look at the connection to the BUS system sounds like a plan. Garage it is, then! Hopefully, my experience will be a helpful one for others in a pickle. Thanks for the heads-up and the well wishes. And yeah, no car's without a cranky day, Dacia or Volkswagen. Will surely keep everyone posted. Fingers crossed!
