Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like your mechanic really nailed it and didn't just go for the quick fix. Think I might also need to make the switch to a more specialized guy for my AC issues. Can I ask, though? Do you recall how much that repair set you back? And has anything similar cropped up with your AC again since that fix? Just preparing myself for what might be coming my way! Cheers for your help much appreciated!
Hey there, You're welcome! Yeah, my mechanic really did a stellar job, took the time to find the root of the problem, which really paid off. Regarding your question about the costs, you won't believe this but it didn't cost me anything - nada. Since it was the refrigerant compressor defect we were dealing with, the repair shop didn't charge me a dime to solve the A/C refrigerant issue. Sometimes luck is just on your side, you know? As for your second question, I haven't encountered any more issues with the AC after that fix. So, it definitely seems like it was a one-time thing, fingers crossed it stays that way. So prepare yourself for a cool ride, hopefully at no cost just like mine! Good luck with the fix and let us know how it goes! Cheers!
Hey again, Wow, sounds like you hit the jackpot! Sure hoping I have your kind of luck with this. I really appreciate you taking the time to share all this with me. It's given me some hope that it can be sorted without being a complete wallet-buster! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes, fingers crossed it gets resolved as smoothly as yours did. Thanks again and here's to cool rides! Cheers!
Hey there, I totally get your frustration went through the same with my 2016 Dacia Logan. Had issues with my A/C not cooling properly and sometimes even shooting out warm air instead of cold. After a bit of tinkering around, my mechanic found out that my refrigerant was all out. Turns out, it isn't a minor issue as some might downplay it. It was telling that there was a leak somewhere in the system. Just refilling the refrigerant could've just been a temporary bandaid, so my mechanic got down to work to find the source of the leak. So, rather than just charging up the A/C with more refrigerant, he did a thorough inspection to find where exactly it was leaking from. He ended up having to replace a damaged hose which was causing the refrigerant to leak out. Only after sorting that, he topped up the refrigerant and the A/C was back to normal, blowing out chilled air the way it should. In your case, it might be the same issue or could be something different. But I'd suggest you get your A/C checked again by a different mechanic, preferably someone specializing in A/C systems. Your suspicion about the refrigerant compressor might very well be correct, but it's best to get a professional to validate and resolve it. Hope that helps and you get it sorted soon. Good luck!
