Hey there, your Dacia Duster's symptoms sound remarkably similar to what I experienced with my 2021 model. Turned out the water pump connection was indeed the culprit - so bizarre how these things spring up, right? Out of curiosity, how much did you shell out to get that fixed? Also, has anything else popped up since then or has it been smooth sailing? You know how it is with cars - one fix seems to just pave the way for another issue...! Thank you both again for all the advice. Safe travels!
Hey back at ya! Funny enough, the fix cost me about 155€, but it was totally worth it. Pesky water pump connection, huh? Thankfully, since seeing the mechanic, my Dacia hasn't seen a recurrence of that message error between control devices. It was all related to that faulty cable connection/plug. So far, touchwood, it's been nothing but smooth sailing after the repair. I think that old saying, "Once you fix one problem, another one pops up," is more like a myth, at least in my case! Fingers crossed it stays that way. Just keep a close eye on your Dacia, get it checked out and fixed as soon as you see anything fishy. Happy motoring!
You guys are gems! Appreciate the advice, it genuinely does sound like a similar issue. It's hammering down with rain right now, but once it clears up, first thing I'm doing is booking a checkup with my mechanic. Fingers crossed, it's just the cable connection/plug of the water pump. And keeping an eye out for pesky warning signs has now topped my to-do list. Safe journey to both of you too, thanks a bunch again!
Hey there, I can relate to your issue. I have a Dacia Duster (2018 model) and I had something similar happen to me. The check engine light was constantly on, my car used to overheat and coolant kept running out. After a series of annoying breakdowns and hauling it over to the garage, my mechanic pointed out an issue with the cable connection/plug of the water pump. Turned out it was defective and couldn't properly transfer the coolant around, so the engine heated up and that triggered a cascade of events leading to dire warning light and so on. So, it's a pretty serious issue because if not addressed, it can potentially damage your engine. The fix involved replacing the faulty cable connection/plug of the water pump and making sure coolant flow was back to normal. It wasn't the simplest or quickest of repairs but certainly a necessary one. Hope this helps! Don't sweat too much over it. Things like this happen. It's all part of the car owning experience! Just get it checked and fixed as soon as possible. Safe driving!
