Dacia Spring Electric Motor Facing Terminal 30 Interruptions: Seeking Advice for Garage Repairs

Hey! I've got a 2021 Dacia Spring, electric motor, racked up about 95,722 KM. Recently, it's been acting up with some general electric malfunctions, the fault light is always on, the lights are dim or flickering, plus the battery shows weakness when starting. I have reasons to suspect that it's something with the terminal 30 being interrupted. Anyone else been down this road? How good (or bad) was your experience dealing with this at the garage? Thanks in advance, fellas.

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Dacia Spring electric vehicle is experiencing general electrical malfunctions, including a persistent fault light, dim or flickering lights, and a weak battery during startup. The initial suspicion was an interruption with terminal 30. However, a similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing a worn-out battery, suggesting that the problem might not be as severe as initially feared. The recommended solution is to check and possibly replace the battery, which could resolve the electrical issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there, I feel ya. Funny enough, I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2018 Dacia Logan MCV a while back. Yeah, an entirely different model but hear me out. Started showing some goofy electric malfunctions, dim lights, and all that jazz - just like your Spring. Turned out the problem was indeed my battery, which was defunct. It wasn't about terminal 30 but rather the battery itself being worn out and discharged. It took me by surprise cause I didn't expect this kind of drama so soon from my trusted ride, but I guess such things happen. Once the guys at the garage changed it, the car was back to being its old reliable self. It was no cakewalk dealing with all this in the middle of my daily grind but thankfully, it wasn't a doomsday type of problem either. So, you might wanna have your battery checked could be that it just needs a swap like mine did. Hope this helps and good luck! Best

Hey! That's really interesting, my. It seems like I've been looking in the wrong place focusing on terminal 30. You've given me hope that it might just be a battery issue, and despite it being a bummer, it seems a tad less horrifying than a severe electrical fault. Just out of curiosity, do you remember roughly how much you dished out for the battery replacement? And have you encountered any other peculiar electrical problems since the change? Hoping your MCV has been treating you well post that drama! Cheers

Hey! Great to hear from you! Yes, indeed, it was a bit of an unpleasant bump, but nothing a little battery boost couldn't fix! As for the cost, it set me back about 290€ - a fair price to pay to get my trusty Logan MCV back on the road in full glory, don't you think? And touching on your other query, it's been smooth sailing since seeing the mechanic. Remember that terminal 30 problem I thought I was facing? Turned out to be nothing but a false alarm! Once the battery was replaced, the pesky fault light went off and the lighting issues got resolved. No more dim lights and flickering. So, in my experience, a simple battery fix did the trick. Fingers crossed that it's the same for your Dacia Spring. Keep me posted on how it goes and I hope your ride gets back up and running soon! All the best

Hey! Good vibes from your end! The price does seem fair for getting back the peace of mind and a car behaving as it should. Glad to know it's been smooth sailing for you since then, gives me some relief knowing the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a train...haha! Your faith in the battery replacement is contagious. I'm scheduling a garage visit as we speak, fingers crossed it's the same issue. Thanks for sharing your experience and helpful insights. I'll keep you posted on how things go with my Dacia. Who knows, maybe it's my turn for smooth sailing once this issue gets sorted out ;) Thanks again, my. Catch you later
