Defective navigation and audio systems in a Toyota Yaris 2016: experiences and solutions
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota Yaris owner is experiencing issues with both the navigation and audio systems, suspecting the problem is due to invalid image data. A similar case with a 2015 Toyota Auris revealed that loose cable connections were the cause, and updating the image and audio data resolved the issue. The suggested solution involves checking and fixing any loose connections and ensuring all data is current, which successfully resolved the problem in the past.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Your experience sounds really encouraging. That could very well be my problem. Can you remember how much it cost you to fix it? And have you had any more problems since then or has everything gone smoothly since then? Thank you!

Hey, sure, no problem! After I took my car to the garage, the issue with the invalid image data from the navigation system was quickly resolved. They fixed a few errors with the cable connection, which cost me €155. Since then everything has been running smoothly, no more problems. I hope this helps you! Best regards!

Hi, Had a similar problem with my 2015 Toyota Auris, had run around 180,000 km. The symptom with me was that the navigation system and the audio system failed and it was also said that it was due to the image data. In my workshop, it was a fault in the cable connection. It turned out that some of the connections to the navigation and audio systems were loose and this was the reason for the failure of both systems. The important thing there was that all the image and audio data had to be up to date as well, so it could be that your problem wasn't just down to the cable connection. So, yes, it was a bit serious, but not a huge problem. Once the connections were restored and the data updated, everything worked fine again. I wish you the same good outcome! Good luck!
