Hey, thanks for the helpful tip! That sounds a lot like the problems I'm having with my Insignia right now. Can you remember how much the whole thing cost you when you had it fixed? And have you had any other problems since then? I'd be really interested to know. Thanks in advance!

Hey, you're welcome! It cost me around €560 to repair the glow plug - not a small price to pay, but everything ran perfectly again afterwards. Because once the glow plug is defective due to wear, it can damage the engine in the long run. Fortunately, there have been no further problems since I went to the mechanic and the problem with the pre-glow relay was fixed. So, better get it checked before it becomes something bigger!

Thank you very much! Your experience and help is very valuable to me. I think I will visit my mechanic tomorrow morning and have the car checked. Your information gives me a good idea of what I might be facing. 560 is quite a lot, but if it helps to solve the problem and prevent major damage, then it's worth it. I'll try to remember and message you after the mechanic visit to tell you exactly what happened. Thanks again! Have a safe journey!

Hi buddy, I had a similar problem with my Opel Astra Diesel from 2006. I also had black smoke and problems accelerating. But my glow plug was also defective due to wear. It wasn't such a serious problem, but immediate attention was needed to prevent damage to the engine. The workshop carried out a detailed check of the entire cooling system and the glow plug relay. They had to replace the glow plug and the glow plug relay to fix the problem. So I would recommend you find a trustworthy mechanic and get it checked out. It's better to fix the problem early before it causes further damage. Good luck!
