Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful since I'm dealing with very similar symptoms. I'm glad you managed to get it sorted out. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up?

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Actually, I just got my Discovery back from the mechanic last week, and I'm happy to report the parking heater is working perfectly now. The problem was indeed a defective glow plug, just like I suspected when I first replied to you. The total bill came to 560€, which included the parts and labor. While it wasn't exactly cheap, it was worth every penny because the car starts like a charm now, even on chilly mornings. I haven't noticed any other issues since the repair, everything's running super smooth. One thing I've learned from this experience is that it's really important to get these starting issues checked out quickly. I'm actually glad I didn't wait too long to get it fixed, as it could have led to more expensive problems down the line. If your symptoms are similar to what I experienced, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out soon. The peace of mind is totally worth it! Let me know if you need any other info about the repair, happy to help!

Thanks so much for all the details! I finally took my car to a mechanic today, and wow, what an experience! The mechanic I found actually specializes in Land Rovers, and they identified the issue within hours. Turns out it wasn't just the parking heater, there was also a faulty sensor that was causing the starting problems. The repair cost me around 700€, a bit more than what you paid, but they also did a thorough check of the entire starting system. The mechanic was super transparent about everything and even showed me the worn-out parts they replaced. Got to drive it home just now, and it's running beautifully! The engine starts right up, no hesitation at all. Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. Thanks again for giving me the push I needed to get this sorted, your advice really helped me make the decision to get it checked out right away!

Hey there! I went through something similar with my 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport (gasoline). My car had starting issues and displayed the glow plug warning. Initially thought it was just the heater, but it turned out the entire glow plug control module needed replacement. The repair involved replacing the control module and testing the entire starting system. Wasn't a quick fix, my car stayed at the garage for three days. While it was a serious issue that needed immediate attention, it wasn't something that caused permanent damage since I caught it early. Since your symptoms sound familiar, I'd recommend having both the parking heater and the glow plug system checked. These components work together in cold conditions, and a failure in one can affect the other. Good luck with the repair!
