Hey there, I run into a similar pickle with my 2018 Lexus LX a while back. From the sound of it, you might be dealing with a Steering column switch cable connection issue. It's not my first rodeo with cars but I would still say I have some experience. To tackle this, I took my Lexus to my local workshop. After a bit of head-scratching, the ace mechanic pinpointed the problem to the steering column switch cable connection. It was defective and hence messing with my wipers and lights. Took about 155 Euro to replace and rewire it, but it fixed the issue for me completely! To answer your question, I haven't noticed anything weird with the steering or other electrical components. All seems well there. And to top it off, I treated my Lexus GX to its latest service pretty recently, just at about 10998 KM mark. So, my car's still pretty new, but you know, things happen.
