DMax AC Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Chevrolet DMax with a diesel engine experienced an AC malfunction at 23,805 km, with the climate control unit failing to provide cool air. The suspected cause was a faulty cable or plug connection to the rear ventilation flap. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was confirmed that a defective cable was the problem. Replacing the cable and plug resolved the issue, restoring the AC functionality.

Thanks for the quick reply! It's completely dead, not even a little bit cool. Just warm air blowing through. Where exactly should I be looking for these connections? Is it something easily accessible, or do I need to start dismantling half the interior?

If it's completely dead, then it's more likely a full disconnect. Honestly, without the right diagnostic tools, it's difficult to pinpoint. It's likely that the connection is defective. You could try to find them yourself, but given the symptoms, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. It will save you time and potential further headaches.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the local garage. Turns out you were spot on; the cable for the rear ventilation flap was indeed defective. They replaced the cable and plug, and the air con is now working perfectly again. Cost me 95€ including labor. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar issue in my DMax, although a different model year. Check the connections to the rear ventilation. Sometimes they come loose, or the plug gets corroded. It's like a loose wire on a lamp – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Does the air work at all, or just not as cold as it should be?
