DMax steering angle sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Chevrolet DMax diesel with 133,741 km is experiencing steering issues, including intermittent power steering failure and vibrations at lower speeds. The problem is suspected to be a faulty steering angle sensor, possibly due to incorrect coding. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the sensor, confirmed through diagnostics, leading to improved steering performance.

Interesting. Yes, the traction control light does flicker occasionally. Was it a simple fix, or did you have to replace the entire sensor assembly?

Similar to what you are describing, traction control light on and off. In my case, the fault was confirmed by diagnostics and I recommend that you consult with a workshop to read out the error codes. The sensor required replacement.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The diagnostic confirmed a defective steering angle sensor with faulty coding. Replaced it for 195€ and the steering is now perfect. Your experience helped a lot!

Sounds familiar. I had the same symptoms on my old BMW 3 Series. Turned out to be a dodgy steering angle sensor. Does your traction control light come on intermittently too?
