Doblo Brake Light Switch Error
Summary of the thread
A recurring brake light switch error on a 2001 Fiat Doblo was causing intermittent brake light failures and error messages. The issue was suspected to be related to wiring or a faulty switch. After consulting a workshop, it was determined that the brake light switch was faulty due to age. Replacing the switch resolved the problem, eliminating the error message and restoring proper brake light function.

Thanks for the reply. When you had this issue, was the error message always there, or did it come and go? Also, did you fix the wiring yourself, or did you get a technician to do it? I don't want to mess anything up.

The error was intermittent at first, then became more frequent. Given your reservations and the potential complexities of the system, I'd suggest consulting a workshop. They can do a full check and make sure nothing else gets damaged. It might be a simple fix, but peace of mind is worth something. It would be safe to check all the connections before that, but only if you feel comfortable doing that.

Thanks for the advice. I went to a workshop. It was a faulty brake light switch, probably just old. They replaced it, and the error is gone. The repair was basically free, about 0€. Thanks again for the help!

I also own a Fiat Doblo and had a similar situation with the brake lights. The error message and intermittent light failure are quite familiar. Have you checked the condition of the wiring harness near the brake light switch? Sometimes a loose connection or minor damage can cause these issues, even if the switch itself appears to be functioning. I had to slightly adjust mine and the problem disappeared. Was there any work done recently that might have disturbed the wires?
