Doblo cruise control failure

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2011 Fiat Doblo, it's the gasoline engine version. The cruise control just stopped working out of nowhere! I get an error message popping up in the speedometer, and the cruise control itself is completely dead. I even plugged in an OBD scanner and found an error stored in the memory. Could this be something simple, like a fuse? I'm hoping it's not something major, but any ideas what might be causing this?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Fiat Doblo with a gasoline engine experienced a sudden failure of the cruise control system, accompanied by an error message on the speedometer and a stored error code. The issue was suspected to be related to the electrical components of the cruise control system, possibly a defective cable or plug connection. It was advised to seek professional assistance due to the complexity and potential risks involved with steering wheel electronics. The problem was confirmed to be a defective connection and was resolved by a local workshop.

The symptoms you describe suggest a potential defect within the cruise control system's electrical components. Have you inspected the cable and plug connections associated with the steering wheel controls?

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say cable and plug connections, are we talking about inside the steering wheel itself? Is that something I can easily check myself, or am I better off leaving that to a professional? I don’t want to mess something up.

Given the potential for airbag deployment and the sensitive nature of steering wheel electronics, it is advisable to consult a qualified automotive technician for diagnosis and repair. The error message and stored code strongly suggest an electrical fault requiring professional attention. A defective cable or plug connection is a plausible cause.

Okay, that makes sense. I appreciate the advice! I'll book it in with a local workshop. It turned out to be a defective connection, like you said! Cost me 95€ to fix. Thanks again!
