Doblo rough engine running
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Doblo diesel was experiencing rough engine running, a check engine light, and an error related to 'reset quantity drift compensation.' The issue was suspected to be linked to a faulty injector, as indicated by poor fuel economy and an error code. The problem was confirmed by a workshop, where a defective injector was identified and replaced, resolving the issue.

Poor fuel economy, yes, it is noticeable. Airflow sensors seem okay, as far as I can tell. The error code points to an injector issue, which makes me think the drift compensation is the ECU trying to correct for a faulty injector. Could a defective injector actually cause the ECU to throw a drift compensation error?

Okay, with the fuel economy issue and the error code pointing to the injectors, it does sound like your initial thought about the drift compensation is probably on the right track. The ECU tries to compensate for injector deviations, and if one's truly gone bad, it could be maxing out its compensation range and throwing that error. I'd take it to a workshop to get the injectors properly tested. It will be safer, I would not continue driving it.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to a workshop as suggested. You were spot on - a defective injector was the culprit. The repair, including injector replacement and recalibration, cost 515€. Runs like new now!

Drift compensation, huh? That's a new one on me. Are you experiencing any other weirdness, like poor fuel economy or sudden drops in power? Have you checked your airflow sensors, just in case? It seems odd to jump straight to drift compensation without ruling out the basics first. What error code are you seeing?
