Dodge Emergency System Failure, Telematics Module Alert

Recently my 2023 Dodge 700 started showing multiple warning signs in the speedometer display along with stored error codes. The car safety system seems affected, particularly the integrated SOS signal functionality. The telematics control module might be involved since the emergency call system shows a malfunction. Looking for anyone who faced similar issues, what was the actual problem and how did your repair shop resolve it? Would really appreciate details about diagnostic steps and repair times, as I need to plan accordingly. Has anyone experienced this outside warranty, and if so, what were the costs involved?

As someone with some automotive electronics experience, I encountered a similar issue with my 2021 Dodge 800 last summer. The control module for the emergency call system started acting up, showing diagnostic codes and warning messages about call failure. After checking with my workshop, they found the root cause was a faulty cable connection to the telematics control module. The repair involved accessing the module, checking all connections, and replacing a corroded plug. Total repair time was about 2 hours, costing 95€ including diagnostic work. The symptoms matched exactly what you describe, multiple warning lights and the SOS system showing errors. Once fixed, all systems returned to normal operation and the warning lights cleared. Before suggesting specific fixes, could you share: Have you scanned for specific error codes? Did this start suddenly or develop gradually? Are there any other electrical issues, like intermittent dashboard displays? Has the vehicle been exposed to water damage or extreme weather? This information would help determine if your issue matches the common failure pattern I experienced with the control module connections.

Last service completed at 85000km. The error codes were scanned at the dealer showing P1ACB and U0151. Both codes point to the emergency call system having communication issues with the control module. A system reset was attempted but warnings persisted. The issue started suddenly after heavy rain, with all warning lights appearing at once. No other electrical problems noticed, but the SOS signal indicator remains red. The dashboard works normally otherwise. Just scheduled dealer appointment but hoping for insight from others who dealt with similar symptoms. Not looking forward to diagnostic charges given mileage is now at 86106km.

Thanks for those details, your symptoms match my experience exactly, especially with the timing after rain exposure. The P1ACB and U0151 codes are the same ones I encountered with my Dodge 800 when the telematics control module connection failed. The system reset attempt failing also fits the pattern of a physical connection issue rather than just a software malfunction. In my case, moisture had gotten into the connector housing, causing corrosion at the pins. A thorough inspection revealed water intrusion through a degraded seal near the module. The fix required: Replacing the corroded connector, Installing updated seals, Performing a complete system reset after repairs One thing I learned: requesting the technician to specifically check the module seals and connections first can save diagnostic time. The complete call failure and persistent SOS signal warnings are classic signs of this issue. While my repair was 95€, costs can vary if additional components need replacement. The good news is this type of repair typically resolves all warning lights and communication errors once properly addressed.

Thanks for sharing those helpful details. Based on your experience and the similar error codes, I feel more confident it is likely the same connector issue my Dodge is experiencing. The timing after rain and matching diagnostic codes P1ACB and U0151 really point to water damage affecting the telematics control module connections. I will definitely mention this to the dealer when I bring it in, specifically asking them to inspect the module seals and connections first before doing extensive diagnostics. The 95€ repair cost you mentioned gives me a good baseline to expect, though I understand it could be higher if they find more damage. Really appreciate you confirming the system reset behavior too, makes sense that it would fail if there is physical connection damage rather than just a software issue. Will update once I get the results from my dealer appointment and see if the repair resolves all the warning lights and SOS signal failures like in your case.
