DPF Warning Light Still On After Replacement - BMW x5
Summary of the thread
The main issue is that the DPF warning light on a BMW x5 remains on even after the DPF has been replaced. This could be due to the car's ECU not recognizing the new DPF installation. A suggested solution is to use the Carly diagnostic tool to reset the DPF adaptation values, which informs the car's system of the new DPF and should stop the warning light from appearing.

You may need to reset the DPF adaptation values using Carly or another diagnostic tool. This process informs the car's ECU that a new DPF has been installed. Check your Carly app for the option to reset or adapt the DPF settings. Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you need further assistance.
Hi there, So there is a function within carly to do this? I have not recieved my carly yet I only purchased it today. I am hoping there is an option within the carly app that will allow me to do thisas I have heard differing opinions while looking online. Google AI says it can but if I word it differently it says it cannot do this and can only initiate a regeneration. I was looking for clarification as to whether or not it could perform this function?

Yes, Carly can reset the DPF adaptation values, which is necessary after replacing the DPF. Once you receive your Carly device, connect it to your car and navigate to the DPF section in the app to perform the reset. If you encounter any issues or need further guidance, feel free to ask.

Do I need to purchase the SMART mechanic version to be able to Reset the DPF?
