DS3 Audio System Failure

Alright, Citroen DS3 gurus! My 2015 DS3 diesel is giving me grief. The audio system has completely died – no sound whatsoever. Plus, I plugged in my OBD reader and it's throwing up an error related to the display. It's like my car's gone mute! Anyone else had this? I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. I'm pulling my hair out here!

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Citroen DS3 diesel is experiencing a complete audio system failure, with no sound output and an error code related to the display. The issue is suspected to be with the display unit itself, as confirmed by a mechanic. The suggested solution is to replace the defective display unit, which will resolve the audio system failure.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my old Vauxhall Astra, a 2012 petrol version. Radio just went silent, like someone hit the mute button from the moon. I thought it was a loose connection to the speakers at first, but nope. Did you get any weird crackling or distortion before it died completely?

No crackling or anything like that, which is what makes it so weird! It just went dead suddenly. I’m leaning towards the display itself being the problem since that's where the error code points. Was that the case with your Astra? How did you figure it out?

Yep, turned out the head unit was toast. Like a bad apple, it just stopped working. It controlled everything audio-related. I tried all the DIY stuff, checking connections, resetting the system, etc., but no dice. In the end, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the display unit itself. Looks like you're heading down the same road, friend.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like I'm facing the same fate. I took it to a local mechanic who confirmed that the display is indeed defective. The repair is going to set me back 725€ which stings, but at least I know what the problem is. Appreciate the help!
