DS3 Automatic Transmission Issue

Hey, I'm having some serious issues with my 2015 Citroen DS3 gasoline. It has 237623 km on the clock. The automatic transmission is acting up with implausible shifting behavior. The transmission indicator light keeps popping on, and the automatic transmission just isn't shifting like it used to. Sometimes it even goes into emergency mode. I've checked some things, but I suspect undervoltage may be the culprit. Has anyone else experienced this with their DS3's automatic gearbox?

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had a similar problem with my DS3 (petrol engine as well). The symptoms you're describing sound very familiar. My automatic transmission was doing all sorts of weird things. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level? Low fluid can definitely cause those issues.

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the hydraulic fluid level, and it seemed okay, but maybe I should double-check it. When you say "similar problem", do you mean the exact same symptoms, like the emergency mode and the indicator light? Did the fluid level fix it for you, or was there something else going on?

Yeah, pretty much the exact same symptoms. Emergency mode was the worst! The hydraulic fluid level was ok in my case. I ended up taking it to a workshop. Turned out my transmission oil was worn out. They replaced it and the transmission performance went back to normal. I would suggest you do the same. Costs around 240€

Thanks a lot for the help! I suspected it could be something like worn transmission oil. I'll take it to a workshop and get them to check it out. I really appreciate you sharing your experience; it's given me a much better idea of what to expect. The repair was a transmission oil change and now it works perfectly.
