DS3 battery drain
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Citroen DS3 owner experienced battery drain issues, with symptoms including error messages, weak flickering lights, and starting difficulties. After ruling out obvious causes like lights left on, a suggestion was made to check the battery sensor, which can cause parasitic drain if defective. The owner confirmed the issue was resolved by replacing the faulty battery sensor at a workshop.

That's interesting! Where exactly is the battery sensor located, and how would I test if it's defective? Could that really cause such a heavy drain? I did measure the battery terminals and they seem fine...

It's usually attached to the negative terminal of the battery. Honestly, I wouldn't try testing it yourself unless you know what you're doing. A defective sensor can definitely cause a parasitic drain. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop to confirm.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on - it was indeed the battery sensor! Cost me 315€ to get it replaced. Problem solved!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my DS3. Check the battery sensor. Is the battery draining even when the car is off?
