DS3 Headlight Washer Issue

Alright, car gurus, need your wisdom! My 2014 Citroen DS3 with a gasoline engine has a weird issue. The headlight cleaning system is kaput. And get this, the windshield washer isn't working either! It's like one blew a fuse and took the other down with it. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable connection to the pump or relay. Anyone seen this before? Mileage is at 51420 km. It’s driving me nuts!

Greetings. I am familiar with a similar issue occurring on Citroen DS3 models. While I cannot speak for your specific model year, I experienced comparable symptoms on my vehicle. It is perplexing when seemingly disparate systems cease functioning concurrently. Have you verified the integrity of the relevant fuses? Furthermore, could you elaborate on any diagnostic procedures you have undertaken thus far?

Hey! Thanks for the quick reply! Fuses are fine, checked them all twice. As for diagnostics, I've visually inspected the wiring near the pump, but it all looks okay at first glance. I don't have the proper tools to test the relay or pump itself. What exactly was the issue with your DS3 when you had a similar problem?

I appreciate the additional information. In my case, the root cause was indeed a defective electrical connection to the pump responsible for both the headlight and windshield washer systems. The analogy I would use is of a chain where one weak link compromises the integrity of the entire structure. Given your limitations in terms of diagnostic equipment, I would recommend seeking counsel from a qualified automotive technician. Their expertise and specialized tools will facilitate a more comprehensive assessment of the system's functionality.

You were spot on! Took it to a mechanic, and it was indeed a corroded connector to the pump. They cleaned it up and replaced a short section of the cable. Cost me 165€, but at least everything's working again. Thanks a bunch for pointing me in the right direction!
