DS3 Intake Manifold Flap Issue

My 2014 Citroen DS3 diesel is giving me grief! It's got 179k on the clock. Lately, it's been running rough, feels like it's lost power, and jerks like crazy when I try to accelerate. Plus, there's this loud hissing sound when I put my foot down. MPG has gone to pot too. Been reading online and sounds like it could be something with the intake manifold flap control? Anyone had similar issues?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 2016 Opel Astra diesel a while back. Reduced power, rough running... the whole shebang. Check your intake system, especially the flap control. Is the engine light on?

Yeah, the engine light's on! So, was it definitely the intake manifold flap control on your Astra? What exactly was the problem?

Yep, it was the intake manifold flap control. The switch was defective. That caused the flap to not open and close properly, messing with the air intake. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. Could save you a lot of headache.

Cheers for the advice! Took it to the shop and you were spot on. Faulty intake manifold flap control switch. Cost me 465€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running sweet again!
